collaborate with suppliers to uplift society

 

The regulation below is stipulated to promote the balance between economy, society, safety, health and environmental ecology, and the sustainable development together with our suppliers.

 

1. Safety and health

The supplier should agree that a safe and healthy workplace can facilitate improving the product and service quality, production continuity, staff stability and morale. The supplier should be aware that the constant involvement training for employees is the key to identify and solve the health and safety issues in the workplace.

  1. Occupational safety: The supplier should provide SOP, preventive maintenance and protective facilities, so as to reduce safety risks in the workplace. If the risks can’t be controlled, the supplier should provide personal protective gears suitable to the workers.
  2. Industrial safety: When the worker is exposed in the hazardous chemicals, risks with biological and physical factors, the supplier should identify, evaluate and control the hazards.
  3. Labor health and safety: The supplier is committed to complying with the requirements of the occupational safety and health laws and the related regulations.
 
2. Environment

The supplier should be aware that the environmental responsibilities are closely correlated with manufacturing of world-class products. During the manufacturing process, it should mitigate the negative impact on the community, environment and natural resources. At the meantime, it should protect the health and safety of the mass public.

  1. Management and control of hazardous substances: The supplier must comply with the requirements of all related laws and regulations regarding the prohibition or restriction on specific substances.
  2. Discharge of wastewater and wastes: The supplier must monitor the wastewater and wastes generated from manufacturing goods/products. It must conduct treatment based on the related laws before discharge or disposal.
  3. Exhaust emission: The supplier should classify and monitor the exhaust generated from manufacturing goods/products. It must conduct treatment based on the environmental protection related laws before emission.
  4. Protection prevention and energy saving: The supplier should be dedicated to minimizing or eliminating the wastes in various forms, including water and energy. The supplier may take energy-saving actions during device maintenance and production, or achieve the energy-saving objective through recycle, reuse or alternatives.
 
3. Labor’s rights and interests and human rights

The supplier must protect the labor’s human rights, and treat the labor in a way recognized by the international community, so as to ensure the respect for them.

  1. Non-discrimination: The supplier should not engage in discrimination based on the race, color, age, gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, disability, religion, political affiliation, union membership, nationality or marital status in hiring and working practices such as recruitment, promotion, rewards, access to training, work assignments, salary, welfare, punishment, dismissal and retirement. The supplier should not request the women to perform pregnancy test or show discrimination against the pregnant workers unless otherwise requirements in the local laws and regulations regarding pregnant workers. In addition, the supplier should not request the labor or potential labor to perform drug test with discriminatory tendency unless otherwise requirements in the local laws and regulations or for the purpose of guaranteeing the safety in the workplace.
  2. Working hours: Unless emergency or non-policy situation, the requirements for maximum weekly working hours (including overtime work) and days-off(including leave and rights of vacations in festivals and holidays) should at least meet the laws and regulations of the region where the labor works for the supplier.
  3. Forced labor: The supplier should guarantee all labors work voluntarily. The labor may apply for terminating the employment relationship in advance. It should not request the labor to hand over government-issued identification, passports or work permits as a condition of employment.
  4. No child labor: It should prohibit hiring child labor. The definition of child labor is subject to the laws and regulations of the region where the labor works for the supplier (“Child” refers to the person who meets any of the following conditions, under the age of 15 (or 14 permitted by the laws of the local country/region), or under the age that finishes the compulsory education, or under the minimum age for working or employment according to the laws of the local country/region),
  5. Humane treatment: The supplier must promise no harassment behavior in the workplace. The supplier should not threat the labors or make them suffer from harsh or inhumane treatment, including sexual harassment, corporal punishment, mental or physical coercion, verbal abuse and any other improper or illegal incidents.
  6. Wages and benefits: The supplier must pay the workers based on the minimum wages stipulated by the local laws and regulations and provide legal benefits. In addition to normal wages, the workers should receive the payment for overtime work based on the related regulations of laws. The wages must be paid in time. The supplier should explain the compensation details for the workers timely and clearly.
